The activities of the new Nocentre contemporary art platform in Sicily continue: after a series of explorations in Palermo, the artist residency in the province of Trapani is being prepared
An evolving platform, to explore the impact of contemporary art on society through a series of participatory actions, spread across various places in Italy: this is how Nocntre, a project conceived by the interdependent artist Giuseppina Giordano, animated two formats in close connection with the territory of Sicily between July and August, The Artist Date, in Palermo, and Bomboniere, in Torretta Granitola, in the province of Trapani.
The second format of Nocentre, Bomboniere, will take place in Torretta Granitola, from 23 July to 2 August.Born with the idea of crossing villages with a low number of residents, Bomboniere meets communities giving value to inhabitants, local activities and places to live by practicing art as a tool for renewed forms of sociality. The format is developed in two moments: an artistic residence and a final public event. For this first edition, Elena Mazzi and Rosario Sorbello will be the pair of internationally active artists invited to live in the village for ten days. During this period, in synergy with the townspeople and local realities, they will work together to create a work of art in the form of multiples, in collaboration with the social enterprise Novanova.
